Huawei is planning to roll out their proprietary EMUI 3.1 software alongside Android 5.1 late this summer. Current Honor 6 owners will have the opportunity to beta test multiple versions before the official release of the final version. The manufacturer has announced via its social media channels that the first 100 Honor Club members will be selected for the test.
These users will receive the software update based on individual smartphone serial numbers. Testers are encouraged to provide feedback directly to the manufacturer and will thus be directly involved in the testing process of the new firmware. Once the beta ends, the final launch will hopefully come by this September to Europe.
Owners who are not part of the Honor Club can still participate by registering and signing up with Huawei. The application period, however, ends on June 30th.
