Huawei has published more upgrade plans for its latest OS update, EMUI 10.1. The one on which we reported last week applied to devices in Western Europe, while these additional plans include Africa, Asia, Canada, Japan, Latin America, the Middle East and Russia. We have included screenshots of the upgrade plans below.
EMUI 10.1, or Magic UI 3.1 for Honor devices, introduces several new features to Huawei's in-house OS. These include MeeTime and Celia, which are Huawei's answer to FaceTime and the Google Assistant, respectively. EMUI 10.1 also includes a Multi-Device control panel and better multitasking.
It is worth bearing in mind these upgrade plans only apply to unlocked handsets. Huawei stresses this in all its EMUI 10.1 upgrade plan announcements, so carrier-locked devices will be following different upgrade schedules. We would recommend asking your carrier for details if your device has not already been upgraded to EMUI 10.1.
The various upgrade plans are at different stages too. Huawei has delivered EMUI 10.1 to all Mate 30 Pro, Mate 30 Pro 5G, nova 7i and P40 Lite handsets in Africa and the Middle East, for example. By contrast, the company will not start issuing EMUI 10.1 to any devices in Canada until the end of July. Additionally, the smartphones listed in the tables below are not the only ones that will receive EMUI 10.1. however, EMUI OS upgrades can take months to reach all devices. Hence, the start date listed below does not necessarily represent when your handset will receive EMUI 10.1.
