Huawei P40 series: 10x optical zoom may only be coming to the P40 Pro+, and only in China
Following yesterday's announcement by WinFuture of official hardware specifications for the P40 series, it has now emerged that the flagship model may only receive a limited release. Expected to be called the P40 Pro Premium or P40 Pro Plus, the device will feature the best bits from the rest of the P40 series plus a camera capable of 10x optical zoom.
Sadly, the P40 Pro Plus, or P40 Pro+ as it could be abbreviated, may only see the light of day in China . The news comes from @RODENT950, an increasingly popular purveyor of leaked information about upcoming Huawei hardware. Hence, do not treat this as confirmed at this stage, although @RODENT950 does have a good track record thus far.
According to the same leaker, Huawei will offer the P40 Pro as the premier model in most markets, which will seemingly not have the same zoom capabilities that the P40 Pro+ will. That is not to put the P40 Pro down though, as the hardware listed by WinFuture makes for impressive reading. The camera hardware for the P40 and P40 Pro will apparently be as follows:
