The Huawei Mate 9 is expected to be the flagship phablet from the Chinese manufacturer. According to MyDrivers, the Mate 9 will be driven by the new 16 nm Kirin 960 SoC. The octa-core processor will purportedly offer new Artemis cores and support for LTE Cat. 12 and even CDMA networks like Sprint.
Other than the Kirin processor, the same source is also claiming that the phablet will make use of dual 20 MP rear cameras. The current Huawei P9 includes dual rear cameras as well, though "only" at 12 MP each. Whether or not the manufacturer will tap into Leica for the camera modules again remains to be seen. The information should be taken with a grain of salt as MyDrivers may not be reliable.
The Huawei Mate 8 scored a 87 percent in our full review of the device. We noted its quality chassis, excellent performance, and very long battery life as key features. Downsides include relatively average colors, mediocre GPS precision, and unimpressive speakers.
