Honor had set the date of its event to unveil its upcoming flagship phones, the V40 series, on January 18, 2021. However, this has now been pushed back until January 22. In the meantime, it has released posters confirming the appearance of at least 1 of these phones and set up a new online store in its native China.

Honor had originally planned to launch the successors to the V30 premium smartphones on January 4, 2021. However, the brand subsequently postponed this event for 14 days. Now, on the eve of this debut, it has been delayed again for 4 days.

The V40 is reportedly based heavily on the Huawei Nova 8 series, even though the 2 OEMs are no longer affiliated. Honor seems to have confirmed this in its latest teaser. This image suggests the phone is to get 3 colorways: black, a pale silver to purple gradient and a gold-ish shade of beige.

A new leaked video may show how the latter looks in real life; then again, its post has subsequently disappeared from Weibo. In other Honor news, its products have been removed from the Vmall retail platform that is run by its former parent corporation in China, Huawei.

The newly independent company is now transferring to its own Honor Mall store. Its fans can reportedly buy products such as its X1 Smart Screen on the new store, as well as register for new V40s and MagicBook laptops.
