Reviews for the Honor X7a

74.6% Honor X7a smartphone review - Flexible cameras in a low-priced cell phone | Notebookcheck
A wide-angle camera in a phone that is sold for under 200 Euros (~$218) is not a matter of course. The Honor X7a has one, but it might also have some drawbacks due to its slow processor. We take a closer look in the test.

Honor X7a Review
Source: Yugatech English
All things considered, the Honor X7a isn’t a phone you would probably choose if you had the budget to buy something more powerful. But if you are looking for the first smartphone for your kid or something to use for business, then you can’t go wrong with this one. It’s very affordable at the price of PHP 7,990, and it has everything you might need in a phone. Hardware-wise, you could say there are more powerful options out there, and that’s true. However, if you just need another phone to answer calls, text, and maybe do some very light gaming, then why not consider the Honor X7a. You do get a very large battery with it too along with a decent camera.

Honor X7a Smartphone Review
Source: OI Spice Tech News English
The Honor X7a is a great phone with robust features and specs. However, there are numerous drawbacks to purchasing this phone. For instance, the display quality is not appropriate if you want to stream FHD resolution, heating issues can be seen in a long gaming session, and mediocre camera quality. But even after that, the battery life can be considered the only plus point of this phone. We will recommend this phone if you are getting any additional deals. But for now, we suggest you should go with the choice. For example, the Xiaomi Redmi 11 Prime 5G comes out with decent options that will allow users to use 5G connectivity and support impressive display quality. Finally, make the decision that fits your budget and needs.

69% Honor X7a Review: Premium Design, Excellent Battery Life on a budget
Source: Gadgetbyte Nepal English
That’s it for my review of the Honor X7a. While the phone has an impressive battery life and a nice design, it simply does not offer much else. So, all things considered, I believe Honor could have done a much better job with the X7a. So this isn’t the best you can get for the money. You can find much better options like the Poco M5, Moto G31, or Redmi Note 11 from last year. Honor X7a has an appealing design and a long-lasting battery. However, its mediocre processor selection, average cameras, and sluggish UI experience keep it unnoticed in the competition. Smartphones like the Poco M5 and Moto G31 offer much better value for a similar price.

Honor X7a Specifications, Pros and Cons
Source: OI Spice Tech News English

Honor X7a Battery test
Source: DxOMark English
The Honor X7a starts the year off by achieving the No. 1 spot in our battery ranking, thanks to its outstanding autonomy performance, which measured 3 days and 14 hours in moderate usage — the best we have tested so far. The Honor X7a’s overall battery performance overtook the Oppo Reno 6 5G, which stayed at the top of the global battery ranking since September thanks to its overall balanced performance. The X7a’s 6000 mAh battery tested the limits of autonomy and surpassed that of the previous autonomy powerhouse, the Vivo Y72 5G, which managed to bring in a slightly lower autonomy with a 5000 mAh battery. Besides a strong performance in a mixed usage scenario, the Honor X7a was also a top performer in some use cases such as gaming, calling, video, and music streaming. And finally, even when on the go and tested outside, the Honor X7a’s ability to manage its power proved to be excellent. When it came to discharge efficiency, the device drained very low discharge currents, which means that it is well-optimized. Despite its staying power, the device’s user experience was undermined by an inaccurate battery gauge. When the phone displayed 20% of power left on the screen, the true capacity was measured at close to 16%. When the device showed 1% of power on its screen, it would shut down automatically after a minute. When charging the device, the small 22.5W power adapter struggled to fill the large 6000 mAh battery. A 5-minute top-up charge provided only 4 hours of autonomy. Moreover, the charge efficiency, as well as the power adapter efficiency, was poor. Still, the Honor X7a’s unprecedented autonomy performance in our tests shows that battery endurance, regardless of battery size, will continue to be a key focus for smartphone manufacturers this year.

Comment

Model:

The latest to join the Honor family is none other than the Honor X7a. As far as its design is concerned, this is a large and heavy smartphone with its enormous display and large battery. Therefore, it is worth noting that holding the device, especially with a single hand might be tiring after some time. In a nutshell, the design definitely looks clean and elegant. Having said that, the design does seem pretty basic and might not stand out from the crowd. Apart from that, the shiny, glass-like back panel, despite the frosted treatment, is still prone to fingerprint marks. As for the bottom of the device, it houses a 3.5mm headphone jack, primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and a single loudspeaker.

The display has to be one of the biggest strengths of this model as it has been incorporated with a large 6.74-inch IPS panel, with only an HD+ pixel resolution, but with a 90Hz high refresh rate. Despite the lack of sharpness, one can certainly appreciate the huge size of the screen as it makes watching Netflix, YouTube, and other videos more enjoyable as the peripheral vision is almost entirely occupied. In terms of its performance, this smartphone is powered by a 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio G37 octa-core processor, and IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU paired with either 4GB or 6GB of FAM along with 128GB of storage. While scrubbing through the interface is lagging with slow apps opening, once the apps like the web browser or social media platforms are already up, they do run fine. In addition, gaming performance is also not so good.

As for its camera, this phone carries a 50-megapixel main camera along with a 5-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 2-megapixel depth sensor and an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The quality of the image from the main camera is fine, but nothing as compared to the 50-megapixel sensors from more expensive devices. Everything about the picture quality is just okay. While the details are sharp, it is not too sharp. However, the colours do look decent, and the dynamic range is surprisingly well. Due to the slow chipset, image capturing might not be fast enough. Therefore, it is important to stay still until it finishes capturing or it would end up with a blurry image. Low-light images comes out with poor detail and washed-out colours. As for the 8-megapixel selfie camera, it has poor details and skin tones looks pale. However, it should work fine for online classes and virtual meetings though. In terms of its battery, this smartphone has a whopping 6,000mAh battery, which could easily last for two to three days of light to moderate use. Overall, it is a great smartphone to be explored, depending on the need and preference of the user.

6.74":

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.

Honor:

In 2014 Huawei created the sub brand Honor and offers certain smartphone series under this name. Occasionally the products are also called Huawei Honor.

The market share of Honor products is manageable, but there are several reviews on Honor smartphones with average ratings (as of 2016).

61.2%: Such a poor rating is rare. There are only a few notebooks that were rated even worse. The rating websites do not give a purchase recommendation here.
