Honor Magic V3 goes through washing machine in intriguing new teaser
Honor's efforts to ensure that the Magic V3 becomes the thinnest foldable smartphone of 2024 at just over 9 millimeters (mm) even when closed also makes the device look pretty fragile.
That is not the case, however - according to the OEM at least, who has ostensibly partnered with PhoneBuff and the Hydraulic Press Channel on YouTube to deliver some highly creative trailers for the V3 ahead of its global debut at IFA 2024.
The flagship smartphone's new durability tests can not be said to be of the JerryRigEverything standard, preferring to focus on the Magic V3's apparent ability to withstand 23 minutes and 44 seconds of aggressive rinsing (and spinning) in a washing machine.
The other did not take the eponymous Hydraulic Press to the same device as a whole, however, but rather to a piece of the Super Steel developed by Honor for use in the V3's manufacture.
The metal is apparently capable of withstanding 1,150 kilograms (kg, or ~2535lb) of the forces enacted by a slim press bit, thereby enabling just 1 component of Honor's latest hinge to be driven through a piece of solid granite.
Accordingly, the Magic V2 successor is now touted to debut as a smartphone that is both "Slimmer and Stronger" in September 2024.
