Huawei and Honor are two sides of the same coin, and the latter is set for the release of their new flagship, the Honor 9. The Honor 9 was initially billed for a late June release but it looks like the company has brought the launch date even closer, with new information pointing towards a June 12 release.
The Honor 8 was released in 2016 to critical acclaim, as it brought flagship performance to the upper mid-range price space. The Honor 9 can be expected to adhere to that tradition, and specifications for the device confirm that.
The Honor 9 will, of course, ship with the Kirin 960, HiSilicon's flagship from late 2016 with performance in the same ballpark as the Snapdragon 821. It will sport a 5.15" FHD display, a front-facing fingerprint reader, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage memory, dual rear 20MP+12MP cameras, an 8MP selfie shooter, and a 3200mAh battery. Solid specifications, albeit slightly lacking when compared to the flagships we've seen this year.
Prices are unconfirmed at the moment.
