Hogwarts Legacy 2: Reveal could be just around the corner

Alongside ongoing speculation about HBO’s Harry Potter series, rumors about Hogwarts Legacy 2 are making the rounds again. According to these claims, the sequel to the successful open-world game (PS5 version currently around $28 on Amazon) could be announced at the upcoming State of Play. That would mean the reveal is almost here, as Sony’s event is scheduled for June 2. Fans should not get their hopes up too much, though, as the rumors remain disputed.
The latest speculation was sparked by an X post from leaker Tidux. The Reddit community reacted skeptically, however. While Tidux has been active in the leak scene for a long time, he is also known for an inconsistent track record.
Why the rumors could be true
Some Reddit users do not consider an announcement at the next State of Play completely far-fetched. For one thing, Warner Bros. Games is likely keen to use the hype surrounding the series to promote the game. Since the series adaptation is expected to launch in December 2026, Hogwarts Legacy 2 would need to be announced soon enough to leave time for a proper marketing campaign. The first game was also closely tied to PlayStation, making it plausible that Sony could once again hold the marketing rights.
There are indications that Hogwarts Legacy 2 could be connected to the HBO series in terms of story – unlike its predecessor, it would therefore be set during Harry Potter’s time period. We have already explained in another article why this could be a cause for concern among fans. So far, however, both the reveal at Sony’s next State of Play and the possible story connection to the series remain pure speculation, as there is still no official information on Hogwarts Legacy 2.
