Helldivers 2 may be one of the biggest games out there, but it has its fair share of issues. In fact, ever since the game’s release, its players have complained about performance issues across all platforms. The last major update also ended up causing more issues, and Game Director Mikael Eriksson has provided an update on how they are dealing with the situation.
According to Eriksson, the last major update caused more problems than the team expected, especially with game performance across different platforms. These issues affected gameplay for a large number of players, and the community hasn’t been shy about sharing feedback online.
“After the last big update, Into the Unjust, we have experienced more issues than what we were comfortable with. Players felt it, we felt it, and I would say that the feedback we’ve gotten has been very justified.”
Eriksson admitted that the criticism from players is completely justified. He said the team has heard the complaints and agreed that the game is not at the level of stability they want. In fact, Arrowhead has decided to delay some of its future content updates as it wants to first focus on making the game more stable.
“What I can say is that we’re taking this very seriously and we are focusing way more now on addressing these issues to make sure this sort of thing doesn’t happen again.” He continued, “We have made the decision to push some of our content and future updates a little further while we’re addressing these things to make sure we can get the game to a more stable state.”
He also explained that not all issues are the same. Some problems, like smaller bugs and glitches, can be fixed quickly through minor patches. However, larger performance improvements, such as increasing frame rate on different consoles and improving server stability, will take more time.
