HTC has mainly focused on very affordable entry-level smartphones in recent years, but the manufacturer has now unveiled a total of five new smartphones at GITEX 2025 in Dubai, all of which are set to launch as part of the Wildfire series. In addition to a rugged outdoor smartphone and three relatively conventional devices, a gaming smartphone was also on display at the trade show.
Hkyamane was able to share the first photos of this gaming smartphone, while GSMArena was able to uncover some technical specifications. The new HTC smartphone does not look particularly striking and features a square camera bump and rounded corners. However, the black back panel with red accents and a prominent pattern provides a corresponding gaming aesthetic. HTC is reportedly opting for a 16-megapixel selfie camera, a 50-megapixel main camera as well as a comparatively large battery with a capacity of 5,600mAh.
The more or less disappointing detail is that HTC is cutting costs specifically on the processor. The company is allegedly utilizing the Unisoc T765, which is a 6nm ARM chip from 2023 with just two ARM Cortex-A76 performance cores running at boost clock frequencies up to 2.3GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores with 2.1GHz. The outdated chipset suggests that the new HTC Wildfire gaming smartphone will retail for under $250. All five smartphones that HTC showcased at GITEX 2025 should launch before the end of the year, but it remains to be seen in which markets those devices will be officially available.
