The 4.7-inch HTC 10 Mini will supposedly be just as powerful as the HTC 10 if not more so with its Snapdragon 823 SoC.

Sources close to Android-News claim that HTC will be revealing the HTC 10 Mini this September. An interesting tidbit from the leak is that the supposed Mini version may even be more powerful than the full-size HTC 10 due to having a newer Snapdragon 823 SoC. The Snapdragon 823 is able to run at a higher 2.8 GHz clock rate compared to the 2.15 GHz Snapdragon 820, though it may be underclocked for the final product to prevent overheating. It is also unclear if the 2.8 GHz claim will apply to all cores or even single-threaded operations.

Other than the CPU, the rumor suggests that the HTC 10 Mini will ship with 4 GB RAM. Whether or not it will ship with the same rear Ultra Pixel camera with laser auto-focus and speakers as the HTC 10 remains to be seen.

The One M9 successor is expected to be officially announced this April 12th during a press event. The Taiwanese manufacturer has been tight-lipped on the HTC 10 with only small teasers of its impending reveal. Whereas previous iterations of the flagship series were traditionally revealed at MWC, the manufacturer decided to hold off on the HTC 10 reveal this year and instead showed off a handful of mainstream Desire smartphones at the event.
