HP’s webOS-powered tablet is slated for a July 1st release, but that hasn’t prevented HP from being active with regards to a successor. In what appears to be a move to cover all possibilities, the company has filed 6 new TouchPad trademarks with the US Patent Office.
The names HP are attempting to secure include the TouchPadFlex, TouchPadPro, TouchPadTwin, TouchPadGeo and the TouchPadGo. In addition, the company also filed a trademark for the TouchPad7, which could be the name of a future 7” HP tablet or a Windows 7 powered version.
Of course, the names are simply trademarks and don’t necessarily indicate anything HP is working on. Furthermore, even if the company did have some ideas about future tablets, they will likely wait to see how the first TouchPad fares upon its release.
