HP TouchPad now available in Canada, UK

The tablet should now be available in Canada and UK starting at $449 and £399, respectively

Here in the states, the HP TouchPad has been available ever since july 1st, but it has now just begun shipping internationally.

The first set of regions with availability is Canada and the UK where the HP tablet sells for $519 and £399 for a 16GB model, respectively. The 32GB model is also available, for $619 and £479 in the respective countries.

According to Electronista, however, the Canadian TouchPad may already be seeing price cuts from certain retailers. FutureShop, for example, is reportedly offering an instant rebate of $70 for both the 16GB and 32GB model. This brings the price down to just $449 for the 16GB and $549 for the 32GB. The offer is available “for a limited time only” with no specific end date mentioned.

The 9.7-inch HP TouchPad comes with a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 1GB RAM, 1.3MP front-facing webcam, Flash support and the all-important webOS 3.0. HP recently confirmed an AT&T 4G TouchPad variant for release later in the year. Although the number of webOS devices is quite small compared to the inundation of Android devices, there is no doubt that HP will continue to expand and push the webOS platform to a wider range of consumer electronics.
