We have only one thing to say about the HP ProBook 440 G9 – there is nothing wrong with it. It comes with a decent battery life, which will last you through an entire workday. It is great for the future too, because of its two slots for memory, and up to two slots for storage. Well, information about the latter is a bit washed out. You can only put a secondary SSD if you are not using the left M.2 PCIe slot for a WWAN LTE card.

At the end of the day, the ProBook 440 G11 could give the 460 G11 a run for its money in terms of performance. We’ve tested both machines with the same Core Ultra 5 125U chip. In short loads, the smaller device has the upper hand thanks to its higher frequencies while in long stress the clocks are nearly identical. The keyboard is also suitable for typing. Of course, it lacks a NumPad because of the 14-inch form factor. The comfort under max stress is fine – the board doesn’t get too hot and the fan is quiet which is great news for office users who don’t want to get distracted by high-pitched noise. While the single M.2 slot might limit future storage upgrades, the dual SODIMM slots, WWAN slot, and non-soldered Wi-Fi card ensure the device remains future-proof.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
Intel Iris Xe G7 80EUs: Integrated graphics card in Intel Tiger Lake G7 SoCs based on the new Gen. 12 architecture with 80 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). The clock rate depends on the processor model. The Tiger Lake chips are produced in the modern 10nm+ process at Intel.
Intel Graphics 4-Core: Integrated graphics card based on the Xe LPG architecture (similar to the dedicated Arc GPUs, but with a focus on efficiency). Provides 4 Xe cores (64 Xe vector engines) and 4 ray tracing units.

Intel Alder Lake-M:
i5-1235U: On Alder-Lake based mobile CPU with 2 performance cores and 8 efficient cores. The performance cores offer hyper threading, leading to 12 threads that can be processed. The CPU clocks from 0.9 to 4.4 GHz. The TDP is specified at 15 Watt.
Intel Meteor Lake-U:
Ultra 5 125U: A lower mid-range Meteor Lake chip that debuted in December 2023. This 1st Gen Core Ultra processor has come to replace 13th generation Core processors; it has 12 cores (2 + 8 + 2) and 14 threads at its disposal. Its Performance cores, of which there are 2, run at up to 4.3 GHz while its Efficient cores, of which there are 10 (8 main cores plus 2 extra ones found in the Low Power Island) run at up to 3.6 GHz. The 4-core Intel Arc Graphics, just out of the oven, serves as the integrated graphics adapter - this runs at up to 1.85 GHz - and there is a bevy of other brand-new technologies on offer as well including the integrated AI Boost NPU with two Gen 3 engines for hardware AI workload acceleration. This laptop processor's Base power consumption is 15 W, with 57 W being its maximum Intel-recommended Turbo power consumption.

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
