So, we should start by saying that the Pavilion 15 (15-eg0000) is sold in a lot of different configurations. And your experience using the laptop may vary from setup to setup. But generally, this notebook is more than a decent daily driver. It has the performance, thanks to the Tiger Lake CPUs, and the GeForce MX350 in our case. In terms of comfortability, you get quite a decent experience, because the keyboard has a rather long key travel and clicky feedback, and the powerful internals is paired with a fast M.2 SSD.

The latest Pavilion 15 is powerful for a budget laptop, but the $1000+ asking price straddles the line between what we would consider "budget" in the first place. Users will have to really value the discrete GeForce MX450 if they choose this Pavilion over alternatives.

HP Pavilion has been around for ages, the fact that HP keeps updating this line shows that it’s one of the most reliable Windows-based laptop brand in the market. This 15″ laptop is no exception, it’s an extremely lightweight notebook that comes with top specifications. The dual-channel 16GB of RAM (not 8GB), and the 11th Generation Intel i7 chip (not 10th Gen nor i5 CPU) make this notebook capable to get things done and more, like video editing and gaming. So yes, it is an excellent workstation, a very compact one and got a green light. The included standard size HDMI port and SD card slot are good additions since these features are getting rare and rare for a thin and sleek laptop like this.

The new HP Pavilion 15 packs solid processing power at a reasonable price, and this is especially true when you’re not spending more for the latest 11th generation Core i7-1165G7 processor. It stands out as one of the few powerful workstations you can nab without paying a premium. Also, the sleek chassis and compact design make it a perfect companion for toting around on daily travel or to college. However, suppose you need something portable for gaming and complex media editing. In that case, we’d recommend the Razer Blade Stealth 13, which also features a newer Intel Core i7-1165G7 quad-core processor and a dedicated GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q graphics card. That said if all you need is a sleek-looking, powerful, and reasonably priced laptop that can be tweaked for performance, the HP Pavilion 15-eg0025nr is an excellent choice.

Overall, the HP Pavilion 15t-eg300 is a good option for anyone looking for a larger laptop to use around the house and for the occasional trip to the coffee shop. Battery life can be short depending on what you're doing, but it's on par with others at the price and size. The larger widescreen display is fine for work and entertainment, but you should spend a bit more for one of the other three panels HP offers if you can. Also, buy it when it's on sale; otherwise, you can do better at its full $1,010 price.

The HP Pavilion 15 (15-eg3000) is a budget device that is suitable for casual daily or office tasks. Just stay away from the TN display variant and avoid the default CPU options that look more or less underpowered even for light usage. Our laptop has the optional Core i7-1355U and the machine feels quite responsive. That’s possible because of the cooling solution. The CPU can sustain very high clock in light loads and decent frequencies in long max processor stress. The good news is that the fan isn’t noisy and the keyboard isn’t scorching hot to the touch. It’s hard to ask for more in this price range. You get two SODIMMs for memory upgrades that can handle up to 16GB of DDR4-3200MHz RAM. If you want to boost the CPU and the iGPU performance, dual-channel memory is a must. The iGPU has enough power for more than 60 FPS in CS:GO or Dota 2 on Medium details.
