HP is currently offering the OmniBook 5 laptop for 52% off, bringing it down to just $449.99. For that price, buyers are getting a 16-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,920 × 1,200, peak brightness of 300 nits, and 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.
Under the hood, there's a Qualcomm Snapdragon X X1-26-100 (eight Oryon cores boosting up to 2.97 GHz, 1.7 TFLOPS X1-45 integrated GPU, 45 TOPS Hexagon NPU) paired with 16 GB of LPDDR5X-8448 memory and a 256 GB SSD.
Connectivity is a little lacking, as the machine includes just two 10 Gbps USB-C ports (DisplayPort 1.4a, Power Delivery, Sleep and Charge), a 10 Gbps USB-A, and a 3.5 mm headphone/microphone combo jack. The Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 module adds Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 support.
The notebook measures 13.98 × 9.65 × 0.52 inches (355 × 245 × 13 mm) and weighs 3.52 lb (1.6 kg), while packing a 59 Wh battery capable of charging up to 50% in about 30 minutes. HP also added a 1,080p webcam with a privacy shutter and IR support.
The HP OmniBook 5 16 has a user rating of 4.5/5, with most buyers praising the vibrant screen and excellent battery life. Chief among its drawbacks would be the small port count and low-capacity SSD, with the latter thankfully being user-upgradable.
