HP EliteBook 1030 G2-Z2W73EA x360
The HP EliteBook 1030 G2-Z2W73EA x360 proofs that a work laptop should be no less sleek, comfortable or powerful than anything user would use at home. The laptop combines looks, performance (including a U-series Intel Core i7 CPU), a standout keyboard and a wide array of security features in a package. The silver, aluminum unibody laptop uses the company's modern logo found only on its top-of-the-line machines. Lifting the lid shows off the 13.3-inch, 1080p touch screen; backlit keyboard; and shiny, diamond cut around the touchpad and fingerprint reader. The 360-degree hinges allows the EliteBook to be used in several modes, including as a laptop, a tablet, a tent (an upside-down "V") and a display (with the keyboard facing rearwards). Armed with a 2.8-GHz Intel Core i7-7600U CPU, 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB PCIe solid-state drive, the EliteBook is more than prepared for a cornucopia of research and spreadsheets. With its integrated Intel HD Graphics 620, the EliteBook x360 is not a strong graphics performer. This laptop is not made with gaming in mind. Nevertheless, the HD620 will be able to handle some of the games at low to medium settings. The EliteBook x360 is jam-packed with security options. Any organization can customize this 2-in-1 to fit its IT policy. A user can use the fingerprint reader and infrared camera with Windows Hello. Users who prefer a non-biometric way of logging in can use the smart card reader. This system also supports vPro for remote management, and TPM to encrypt their biometric data. Whenever a user reboots the computer, the HP SureStart kicks in. It verifies the BIOS and starts self-healing if there are any issues. The EliteBook comes with a standard software suite pre-installed, with a few HP apps and some bloatware native to Windows 10. HP JumpStart makes it easy to register the laptop and download free software. If users pair the EliteBook with the WorkWise mobile app, a user will be able to check the PC's battery life, temperature, and remaining RAM and storage space from afar. The Windows 10 bloatware includes Facebook, Twitter, Minecraft, Candy Crush Soda Saga, and Sling. The 1.27 kg (2.8 pound), 31.75 x 21.84 x 1.54 cm (12.5 x 8.6 x 0.6 inch) EliteBook cuts a striking profile. It is smaller than the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga (1.27 kg/2.8 pound, 33.27 x 22.86 x 1.78 cm/13.1 x 9 x 0.7 inch) and only slightly thicker than the consumer-grade HP Spectre x360 (1.32 kg/2.9 pound, 30.48 x 21.84 x 1.27 cm/12 x 8.6 x 0.5 inch). The sides of the laptop have enough ports to support a small cache of peripherals. The right side houses a USB 3.0 port, a headphone jack, and a smart-card reader. On the left, the user will find a microSD card slot, Thunderbolt 3, a Kensington lock slot, an HDMI output, another USB 3.0 port and the power jack. @page { margin: 0.79in } p { margin-bottom: 0.1in; line-height: 120% } a:link { so-language: zxx } Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

Spectre Elite. The EliteBook 1020 G2 is a great example of the merging between sleek consumer designs and feature-heavy business configurations. It's inarguably faster and thinner than the 1020 G1, but not without some cutbacks that longtime EliteBook owners may lament.

Clearly, battery life and the dark screen in Sure View mode are the 1020's weaknesses. But it's hard not to call Sure View a strength, or at least an innovative and convenient solution to a real problem. If you need to work with sensitive information in public places, or are just looking for an elegant ultraportable, this EliteBook is worth a long look.

HP EliteBook x360 1020 G2-1EP69EA
The HP EliteBook x360 1020 G2-1EP69EA belongs to HP's latest business 2-in-1 laptop series, which are streamlined and sleek. It looks so good that user will definitely want to show it off around the office, and it is light enough that user will have no problem doing just that. The design is reminiscent of HP's Spectre premium consumer line, with an aluminum lid and a reflective HP logo. When a user opens the EliteBook, a user will find a Full-HD display with a thick bezel on top and bottom. The deck, also silver and aluminum, is punctuated with speaker grates above the keyboard made of lines that form triangles and diamonds. Not that user should knock their EliteBook around, but if a user does, it will probably be fine. It is MIL-STD-810G tested to withstand drops, shocks, dust, and more. The EliteBook x360 1020 G2 should also keep data secure. It uses Windows Hello in combination with both a fingerprint reader and an infrared camera, so users can choose between login options. The computer uses TPM to encrypt biometric data. The 12.5-inch 1080p display on the EliteBook x360 1020 G2 is great. It is bright and produces vivid colors. Hence, it is perfect for watching YouTube videos instead of working on spreadsheets. The panel measured an average of 335 cd/m², easily brighter than the ultraportable average (285 cd/m²), the Lenovo ThinkPad X270 (298 cd/m²), and the Dell Latitude 7389 2-in-1 (308 cd/m²). Only the MacBook was more luminous, at 340 cd/m². The EliteBook x360 1020 G2 comes armed with an Intel Core i5-7300U CPU, a 256 GB SSD and 8 GB of RAM. That is enough for multitasking. The EliteBook and its integrated graphics will allow for very modest video editing, but if users are looking to play intensive games or edit movies, they will need a different kind of machine. Working with Bang & Olufsen continues to be one of the best decisions HP has ever made. The speakers are loud, and they are awesome. Bass, vocals, keyboards, and drums sound all clear, and the sound can easily fill a midsize conference room. If a user does video conference often, it is recommended to get an external webcam. The 720p webcam shots came out blurry. HP is light on its own software on the EliteBook. It comes with HP JumpStart, which gives you tips to get started with your laptop, and PhoneWise, a utility to share emails, phone calls and text messages from your smartphone to the laptop. If you're on Android, it works seamlessly, but iOS users need to leave their phone on with the app open to reap the benefits. The EliteBook's battery will just squeeze you through a day of work, but it will not necessarily last into overtime. It endured for 8 hours on the Laptop Mag Battery Test, which consists of web surfing over Wi-Fi. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

Elitebook has surprisingly few compromises. This is a great looking, business grade notebook – good for several years of hard business use. Add to that HP Australia’s outstanding 3-year warranty and after sales service and it is the clear winner.
