Gigabyte has loaded the P55W v4 with a stack of quality hardware that should appeal to gamers who want decent performance without blowing a fortune. The 15.6-inch screen is a Full HD 1920×1080 IPS panel, and when you add that lot together you’ve got all the hardware you need to play modern games at decent frame rates.

Gigabyte finally decided to give its gaming laptops a chassis they deserve, and it was well worth it. The heat has dropped drastically (the downside being loud fan noise) and the processing power is tip-top. The P55W is a true gaming machine for real gamers, but it still has steep competition to deal with, especially coming from MSI.

Let's be honest—nobody buys a gaming laptop expecting all-day battery life. That said, the P55W's "Broadwell" foundation kept the system on the job for five hours before throwing in the towel. That's not bad for a gaming notebook, and the second most stamina of the laptops compared.

Model: The Gigabyte P55W V4 is a gaming laptop that is suitable for budget-constrained gamers that are still keen on a device that fairs well in terms of performance. Despite being a gaming laptop, the P55W V4 managed to be more portable-friendly with its size of 14.9 x 10.6 x 1.34 inch (37.58 x 26,92 x 3,4 cm) and weight of 2.5 kg. Its overall design provides a nice solid feel. Slight orange accents run across the sides and give the model a 'pop' of personality. This P55W V4 that comes with a brilliant Full HD 15.6” (1920 x 1080) IPS wide-viewing angle display. Nvidia's GeForce GTX 970M graphics adapter is bound to offer any gamers an amazing visual experience, tested with maximum settings on games like Tomb Raider and Battlefield 4.
Games with higher requirements may need to be run on lower settings, but all in all, the P55W V4 allows a smooth playing experience most of the time. Its quad-core Intel Broadwell i7 processor also provides good value for money, allowing users to undertake heavy duty activities that involve multitasking, video editing or the likes. However, its battery life and internal storage could be better. The P55W V4 only achieves 3,5 hours in a standard battery tests and its 128 GB SSD is insufficient for the installation of many high-end games. Other notable features include its resourcefully-packed chassis with four USB 3.0 ports, 8 GB of RAM and pre-installed Windows 8.1 operating system.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.

15.60":
15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

78.75%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
