Getac has announced its T800 G2 rugged tablet with updated Cherry Trail Atom X7-Z8700 processor options and a longer battery life of up to 10 hours. The rear camera has also been updated from 5 MP on the original to 8 MP on the refresh and a front-facing FHD webcam.
The system comes with Windows 10 Pro pre-installed and will carry a starting retail price of around 1360 Euros. Of course, users who wish to configure additional features will see higher prices. Optional extras include either a 1D or 2D barcode scanner and a RS232 port. There is also a MicroSD slot and an Ethernet LAN module. A special SnapBack docking solution on the back of the tablet allows owners to attach even more features including a SmartCard reader, contact-less RFID/NFC readers, or a secondary battery for longer runtimes. More details and information on the Getac T800 can be found on the specifications below.
Rugged Getac tablets compete directly against the Panasonic Toughpad series of tablets for professional use. The manufacturer also recently refreshed its rugged B300 notebook series with Core i7 Skylake options.
