Users of the Garmin Fenix 8 Pro smartwatch are reporting issues relating to Bluetooth headphones. There appear to be a couple of related problems that occur when users try to listen to music, audiobooks or podcasts through the wearable. Bluetooth connection issues were also flagged by Fenix 8 users earlier this year.
In a post on the Garmin Forum, some users have reported that their Fenix 8 Pro watch crashes when they try to skip a song, while others have experienced the issue without pressing any buttons. The issue seems to be affecting users with various headphones, including the Shokz Open Move, the Suunto Wing and the Soundcore AeroFit Pro (curr. $129.99 at Amazon). Users have experienced the problem when using the Amazon Music, Deezer or Spotify app, running Fenix 8 Pro firmwares from 18.51 (stable) to 20.15 (beta).
In a recent comment, one user indicates that the latest beta update for the Garmin Fenix 8 Pro, version 20.18, has fixed this issue. However, this has yet to be officially confirmed by Garmin or by another user. It is also unclear when a stable version of the 20.xx software will be available for all users of this smartwatch.
In the meantime, a Garmin representative 'Garmin - SP' asks Fenix 8 Pro smartwatch users who have this issue to upvote their comment in the forum post. The Garmin team will then reach out to users directly to collect more details. They also recommend that users attempt to sync their wearable via Garmin Express on their computer to ensure all data is synced from the watch correctly.
