Flextail Blast Air compact air blower for cleaning with Qi charging launches

Flextail's Blast Air Kickstarter campaign has been successfully funded. The compact compressed-air blower has now raised more than $193,000. Flextail started with a low target of about $5,000, although that goal was likely set deliberately low, since it would only have covered enough units for around 70 backers. As is often the case, Kickstarter appears to be used here more as a way to gauge demand and collect pre-orders. Flextail is not a new company and has already brought several tools to market.
The design of the Blast Air is notable. At first glance, the device looks fairly bulky. The base for the handle is very wide or long, depending on the angle. In terms of shape, the Blast Air is therefore comparable to a smartphone, although it is held differently. The handle contains a Qi charging unit, allowing the device to be charged on a Qi charging pad. It cannot be used as a Qi power bank, however.
Flextail rates the built-in battery for one hour of runtime at the lowest level 1 setting. The company does not provide figures for levels 2 and 3. The battery can also be charged via USB-C. The Blast Air is intended both for cleaning with compressed air and for inflating hoses and similar items. Several adapters are offered for this purpose. Flextail admits that the device is less well suited for removing air, although the company has been working on a corresponding adapter. However, that adapter is not guaranteed through the Kickstarter campaign.
The device weighs around 7.4 oz and, according to the manufacturer, can move up to 42.4 cubic feet of air per minute. Maximum air speed is said to be 145 mph. The Kickstarter campaign runs until July 21, 2026. Since the funding goal has long since been reached, the campaign should proceed without major issues. As always, however, crowdfunding projects carry some risk, especially since the device has not yet entered mass production.
The current Kickstarter discount prices the device at $69. It can be combined with various options, including the Flextail Zero Lantern, which has already been on the market for some time. Shipping is planned for August 2026.
