Fixed Cybertruck Aero Covers break cover as Tesla calls owner to install the new design

About six months ago, when Tesla was still delivering its initial Cybertruck batches, new owners of the exclusive Foundation Series trim noticed that the aerodynamic wheel covers are not designed well.

While the black Aero Covers certainly completed the look of the edgy Cybertruck, they also scraped the bulging tire walls with their protruding rubber "fingers," prompting a quick wheel cover recall from the Tesla accessory store.

When the Aero Covers disappeared, there was no indication if or when they will be back, and a cottage niche of protection accessories like the Cybertruck Wheel Center Hub Caps Cover appeared.

The wait of the Cybertruck owners is finally over, it seems, as one of them was just recently called by a local Tesla Service Center to come and have the redesigned Aero Covers installed.

The "redesign" seemingly consists of simply shorter Aero Cover rubber "fingers" that do not protrude as much and thus can't scrape a tire wall that is bulging out under the truck's weight.

Needless to say, those Cybertruck owners who already ordered fancier caps like the Carbon Fiber Rim Center Aero Covers won't be very pleased that the original $75 Aero Covers are now back in play for free, and with a new design.

In any case, the issue that made the Cybertruck wheel caps disappear has seemingly been resolved for good, and now the only thing to wait for is a text from Tesla to come and get them installed.
