First Google Pixel 7a live appearance reveals two major upgrades over the Pixel 6a
Google devices have a habit of showing up in the most bewildering places well ahead of launch. The Pixel Watch and Pixel 7 Pro both surfaced in the wild, months before their release, and the latest addition to that list is the upcoming Pixel 7a.
The Pixel 7a, obvious successor to the well-received Pixel 6a, showed up on a Vietnamese Facebook group a few days ago, revealing some important details. For one, the mid-range phone will sport a design consistent with its more expensive siblings, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. That said, though, it does sport bigger bezels than the vanilla Pixel 7 which in turn already has some sizable bezels.
According to the source, the unit in question, a working prototype, has now been remotely wiped by Google. Before that happened, however, they were able to confirm the presence of a 90 Hz display, as well as 8 GB of RAM. Both of those are solid upgrades over the Pixel 6a, with the addition of a 90 Hz panel—in particular—potentially making the Pixel 7a a far more compelling buy than its predecessor.
