Doesn't get any better than this: iFixit successfully disassembles the Fairbuds in-ears and certifies that they are very easy to repair in a teardown video.

Fairphone's new in-ear Fairbuds were recently taken apart and evaluated by iFixit.  Fairphone's in-ears are said to be particularly easy to repair, which iFixit confirms. However, this requires some basic knowledge, as certain components are slightly glued here and there. But this can be solved with a little heat.

iFixit believes that this has to do with the water-repellent design. In the process of disassembly, iFixit is able to access every single replaceable component of the small headphones. This is particularly easy in the case of the charging case, which is held together primarily by screws.

Replacing the battery in the case is therefore a matter of minutes, without the need for any fine motor skills. The in-ears, on the other hand, require a little more finesse, as a seal has to be removed and you have to work in a small space. However, the battery can then be simply pushed out.

iFixit also gives the manufacturer credit for the fact that Fairphone sells spare parts on its website. One small point of criticism is that one particular component of the charging case can only be purchased as part of a larger bundle.

However, the spare parts are not yet available for sale, as Fairphone has only listed them as "Coming Soon" in the store, even if the prices are already visible. A replacement battery for the charging case costs around EUR 13. Individual batteries for the earbuds cost around EUR 10. If you lose a Fairbud, you can reorder it for around EUR 45.

All of this ensures that iFixit awards the full score for the time being: 10 out of 10 points, which is two points higher than Samsung's Galaxy Buds Live.

The Fairbuds themselves are already on sale as a complete package for around EUR 150.
