Gamers often take their setups to the next level with unconventional mods. YouTuber Hascally Homeless, for example, built an aim-assist device that uses electric shocks to control his muscles. Chinese Instagram user ryc._1216 has taken it a step further, creating a system that turns in-game events like gunfire, wind and rain into real-world effects. A 33-second video shows the DIY setup in action as the creator plays Arena Breakout: Infinite.
When the player takes a hit in the game, a side-mounted device fires small fireworks, simulating the impact so convincingly that he ducks and even falls off his chair in one scene. The environmental effects are just as dramatic. When it starts raining in the game, water pours from the ceiling in the real room – and not in small amounts. A powerful wind machine adds to the chaos, blowing with such force that it nearly topples the desk.
Exactly which components were used and where the system was set up remains unclear. What is clear, however, is that it is definitely not a living room – the setup would be far too extreme for that. Rather than offering a practical gaming solution, the project appears to be an over-the-top demonstration of immersion and engineering creativity. On Instagram, most users have responded with humor, joking about the intensity of the experience. One comment reads, “That’s so realistic, I think he really died in the end.”
