The second-last May 2025 giveaway from Epic Games Store is now live. With that, the storefront has also revealed the first two mystery free games from its Mega Sale vaults, and they have a combined value of $63.12.

Epic Games Store has revealed the second-last giveaway for May 2025, which also happens to be the first two free games from its mystery Mega Sale vaults. This giveaway, which has a combined value of $63.12, will be active for a limited time, ending on May 22 at UTC 15:00.

Among the two, the first mystery free game is Dead Island 2. It generally goes for $49.99 when there's no sale in place, but it's now down to $0. Released on April 2023, it's a first-person title that's set in a gore-soaked vision of Los Angeles. Set ten years after the first entry in the series, this second entry puts players in a post-apocalyptic California that the government quarantined for a zombie outbreak.

Some players say that the story of Dead Island 2 is deliberately over-the-top. There's a mix of satire and dark humor, but while the plot might not be everyone's cup of tea, it's not really the primary focus of this currently free game. Instead, the core focus is the action and deep storytelling.

Moving to the second mystery free game from Epic Games Store, it's Happy Game. Released in October 2021, it's from Amanita Design, which is the same developer behind visually distinctive titles like Chuchel and Botanicula.

As for the game itself, it's a point-and-click adventure title that's known for its stark departure into psychedelic horror. It blends the signature hand-drawn art style of the studio with somewhat disturbing themes. Players get to take the role of a young boy who falls asleep and gets plunged into a series of nightmares.

This currently free game on Epic Games Store generally goes for $13.13, but it's currently down to $0. You can learn more about the two titles from the videos attached below.
