Deal | Epic Games Store expands Christmas giveaway with two acclaimed free games

Epic Games Store has defied expectations with the PC free game for Christmas, but it's not the only giveaway that users can claim on December 25, 2025. The storefront is also offering two surprise freebies for mobile, and the good part is that these will remain active for a week, until January 01, 2026.

The two mobile freebies are Monument Valley I and II, and these free games are available for both Android and iOS. Both are acclaimed puzzle games that are developed by Ustwo. Among the two, the first entry to the series was released in 2014, and it's praised for having a stunning Escher-like level design.

Rotating structures, moving platforms, and finding hidden passages are among the core mechanics of the current free game. Its focus on slow-paced exploration and mind-bending puzzles via perspective shifts is also praised. However, Monument Valley is a short game, and the storyline leaves some unanswered questions.

Moving to the second mobile free game, Monument Valley II was released in 2017, and it follows the storyline of the first title. Players praise the touching story of this entry, and the reactive soundtrack can enhance the experience at different points of the narrative.

There's a good level of emotional depth, and the puzzles have expanded mechanics. The dual-character control mechanism is another notable aspect of the game. However, just like the first title, the second entry is a short game, offering around 2-3 hours of gameplay.

Some of the puzzles are regarded as too easy, and the level design is thought to be comparatively less complex than the first entry.
