Epic Games Store has revealed the Christmas PC free game, and it's not what most of the guesses were pointing at. Even so, it seems that fans are not disappointed as the current freebie is being regarded as a "masterpiece" that "everyone should play." It's Disco Elysium - The Final Cut, an enhanced version of the narrative-driven title that launched in 2019.

This also happens to be the 9th mystery free game of the holiday season 2025, and it will remain available for a very short time. More specifically, the giveaway section will refresh once again on December 26, 2025, at UTC 16:00, and then, this current freebie can't be claimed anymore.

Getting back to the game, The Final Cut offers many additional content over the regular version. For example, there's full voice acting and new quests. These additions, however, preserve the core experience.

Per many who played the current Epic Games Store PC free game in the past, the title excels in storytelling. It's praised for delivering unparalleled role-playing freedom through skill checks and dialogue trees. The psychological depth is another good aspect of Disco Elysium, and many note that some interactions with the characters can be memorable.

As for the not-so-good sides, it has somewhat of a steep learning curve. There are time-sensitive events that can often feel punishing, especially when the game is being played in the Hardcore mode. However, some say that frequent saves can make things more manageable.
