Elon Musk unveils the Tesla Cyberwhistle, a US$50 Apple parody that is already selling for 5x its list price
Earlier today, Ellon Musk announced a new Tesla accessory on Twitter to his 65 million-strong followers. Unsurprisingly, the accessory is sold out on Telsa's website, despite being a US$50 whistle. Apparently, the Cyberwhistle is not just any whistle, with Tesla describing the accessory as:
Inspired by Cybertruck, the limited-edition Cyberwhistle is a premium collectable made from medical-grade stainless steel with a polished finish. The whistle includes an integrated attachment feature for added versatility.
Unquestionably, Musk and Tesla have created the Cyberwhistle to mock Apple, which sells its Polishing Cloth for US$19. For reference, Apple's Polishing Cloth remains on backorder for 6-8 weeks, at the time of writing.
The volume of Cyberwhistles on eBay suggests that quite a few Tesla fans missed out on the new accessory. So far, the Cyberwhistle has sold for up to US$249.99, although some sellers are asking US$1,000 for one. Typically, the Cyberwhistle is available for 3x or 4x its list price, though.
