Ebyte has added new single-board computers to its lineup. The ECB32-PGB2E16-I features the T527M, while the ECB32-PGBN4E32-I features the T527MN. The 'N' in T527MN stands for NPU, meaning it comes with a neural processing unit that can accelerate AI applications. This NPU reportedly offers a performance up to 2 TOPS, so compared to NPUs integrated into current AMD and Intel processors, this isn’t a particularly powerful chipset. Other APUs usually have NPUs with double-digit TOPS performance. That said, the Allwinner T527M features four Cortex-A55 CPU cores.
Depending on the configuration, the single-board computer is equipped with 2 or 4GB of RAM. Unlike the Raspberry Pi 5, these Ebyte SBCs sport 32 or 64GB of internal mass storage, which can be used to install an operating system. The board measures 5.75 x 3.98 inches.
Both devices also feature two Ethernet ports with 1Gbps each. PCIe 2.1 with one lane is available as well and offers a bandwidth of 5Gbps. Meanwhile, monitors can be connected via HDMI or MIPI DSI, the latter of which supports 4K at up to 45Hz, while HDMI supports the usual 4K60. Last but not least, these Raspberry Pi 5 alternatives have two 40-pin headers that can be used to hook up sensors and actuators. Ebyte’s new single-board computers can already be found on Amazon Germany and other retailers around the world.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
