Dune keypad adds three AI macro buttons to Apple MacBook Air and MacBook Pro

Dune is a 50-gram add-on for an Apple MacBook Air ($1,259 on Amazon) or a MacBook Pro. The keypad plugs into one of the USB-C ports on the left side of the laptop, allowing you to reach the three large buttons with your left hand without moving it too far away from the keyboard.
The keypad is compatible only with macOS and cannot officially be used with Windows or Linux laptops. The function of the three macro buttons can be configured separately for each app. For example, in Finder, you can copy a file with one button and paste it with the next; in Zoom, buttons can be used to accept or end video chats; and in Notion, you can open new tabs or mark projects as completed. Compared to conventional macro pads, however, Dune is said to offer some more advanced AI features.
That’s because the keypad can automatically detect an app’s most frequently used functions and assign them to shortcut buttons. Dune also supports macros and scripts, which can be created, shared, or downloaded from a store integrated into the app. The hardware, on the other hand, is incredibly simple – Dune measures 40 x 10 x 10 millimeters and weighs 50 grams; it is powered via USB-C.
Pricing and availability
Dune can be pre-ordered via the Project Mirage website for $119, the retail price is expected to rise to $149. However, Batch 2 is sold out, and the manufacturer is currently not accepting any new orders. The manufacturer does not accept returns and offers no warranty, the product will be replaced free of charge only in the event of manufacturing defects or shipping damage.
