The lower-end configurations were originally planned for a launch on February 19, but Dell is ahead of schedule this time to catch competitors off guard.

While the 2026 Dell XPS 14 and XPS 16 with the Core Ultra X7 358H processor have been available since late January, their lesser Core Ultra 7 355 and Core Ultra 5 325 configurations were conspicuously missing. Users who may not have wanted the extra performance of the Core Ultra X7 but still desired the latest chassis design would have to pay heftier prices as a result.

Fortunately, said users will have to wait no longer as the two lesser Panther Lake options are now shipping earlier than expected starting at $1600 and $1750 for the XPS 14 and XPS 16, respectively. The new prices are at least $400 cheaper when compared to their faster Core Ultra 7 358H options and they can still be configured with OLED if desired. If configuring with 32 GB of RAM or more, however, SKUs become locked to the Core Ultra X7 358H.

As for the Core Ultra X9 388H, Dell says SKUs with the enthusiast-level processor are still coming soon. Keep in mind that the jump from the Core Ultra 7 355 to the Core Ultra X7 358H is much more significant than the jump from the Core Ultra X7 358H to the Core Ultra X9 388H and so the upcoming X9 configuration may not be for everyone.

Expect our review on the Core Ultra 7 355 Dell XPS 14 configuration to come in the days ahead.
