Deal | Dell Inspiron 15 3501 on sale with the same 11th gen Core i7 CPU as the XPS 13 9310 for just half the price at $650 USD
While the Dell XPS laptops are always nice, not everyone is ready to spend over a grand on a model. Take two steps down from the high-end XPS series and users will land on the budget Inspiron 3000 series which comes with similar specifications but in a less flashy chassis design.
Office Max is hosting a sale on the Inspiron 15 3501 with the latest 11th gen Core i7-1165G7 CPU, Iris Xe graphics, 16 GB of memory, and 512 GB of PCIe storage for only $650 USD. Performance should be very close to the XPS 13 which typically retails for two time the price of the the Inspiron when configured with the same Core i7 CPU, RAM, and storage capacities. The Inspiron even includes ports not found on the costlier XPS. Needless to say, users would be getting a lot of bang for the buck on this deal.
There are, of course, a few drawbacks to keep in mind. Firstly, the display is only 220 nits meaning it won't be as vibrant as on the XPS. Thunderbolt and USB-C are not supported and battery life is only about 4 hours due to the smaller internal battery. Wi-Fi 5 comes standard instead of Wi-Fi 6 likely to save on costs even further.
We've not yet reviewed the Inspiron 15 3501 and so we can't provide our personal thoughts on the system. Even so, the deal seems hard to pass up for those on tighter budgets.
