Cuervo Y Sobrinos is a watch brand with Cuban roots and Swiss craftsmanship. It started in Havana in 1882. To this day, it still draws design ideas from the city’s rich history. The brand's latest release, the Espléndidos Heritage, brings that spirit back to life through a design that directly reflects the 1930s.
The Espléndidos Heritage features the brand’s signature curved rectangular case, now sized at 35mm by 47mm and crafted in stainless steel. Smooth lines, flared lugs, and a domed sapphire crystal should help the watch sit gracefully on any wrist with its bold visual presence. Inside lies the La Joux-Perret G120, a Swiss automatic movement with a 68-hour power reserve, which is visible through the open caseback and paired with a gold-toned rotor bearing the Cuervo y Sobrinos crest.
Two variants have been showcased: a serial-production black lacquer dial (Ref. 2452.1HB) and a limited edition of 82 pieces with a cream dial and rose gold accents (Ref. 2452.1HLE). Both models share the same design and feature sets - applied indices, a Clou de Paris center pattern, and a unique "bague" ring encircling the small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock.
Rather than chase minimalism like many modern watches (the new A1 Optical is a good example), the Espléndidos Heritage has a more expressive form. Its proportions are larger, and the layered dial detailing adds depth to the whole "old Havana" design. Each piece is completed with a matching Louisiana alligator leather strap and packaged in a humidor-style presentation box.
The black dial version is priced at $3,900, while the limited cream edition is $4,100.
