It seems that Raspberry Pi is on the verge of officially announcing a new entry in its Compute Module series globally. To recap, the company released the Compute Module 5 (CM5) almost a year ago as a direct successor to the CM4. Now, Raspberry Pi has brought the Compute Module 0 to the China International Industry Expo (CIIF) in Shanghai, which runs until September 27.
For the images provided, Raspberry Pi has based the CM0 on the Raspberry Pi RP3A0 system-in-package (SiP) that it already uses in the Raspberry Pi CM3E and Zero 2 W (curr. $22 on Amazon). As a result, the Raspberry Pi CM0 features a Broadcom BCM2710A1 chipset with 512 MB of RAM on a package that roughly measures 56 x 48 mm.
Moreover, the Raspberry Pi CM0 offers Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, Wi-Fi 4, 8 GB of eMMC flash storage and 132 castellated holes. Accordingly, Raspberry Pi will sell a CM0 IO Board, which can be made out in the images above and below that exposes a 40-pin GPIO connector, a microSD card slot, an HDMI port and a microUSB port.
According to ITHome, Raspberry Pi will sell the CM0 for between $18 and $26 to undercut the Zero 2 W. Unfortunately, full global availability remains unknown at this point.
