Compact Android tablet launches with 8.7-inch display and 4G LTE at a low price

Alldocube has launched its iPlay 80 mini tablet in Japan, following its announcement last week. The compact model is designed for everyday use, with a focus on portability and mobile connectivity.
The new model joins Alldocube's compact tablet range, which already includes the iPlay 80 mini Pro and iPlay 80 mini Turbo.
The tablet features an 8.68-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1,340 x 800 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. The in-cell fully laminated panel supports 10-point touch input and has a typical brightness of 350 nits.
Alldocube uses a Unisoc T610 processor with two Cortex-A75 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 cores, all running at up to 1.8GHz. The chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Users can expand the available storage by up to 1TB with a microSD card.
The iPlay 80 mini has a 5,850mAh battery and supports 18W PD charging through its USB-C port. Other hardware includes two speakers, a 5MP rear camera with autofocus and a 2MP front camera. The tablet runs Android 16.

Connectivity options include dual-SIM 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. It also supports GPS, BeiDou and GLONASS positioning and has a compass, an ambient light sensor and a gravity sensor. The tablet measures 212.1 x 124.8 x 7.8mm (8.35 x 4.91 x 0.31 inches) and weighs approximately 350g (0.77lb).
Buyers looking for more performance can also consider the iPlay 70 mini Ultra, which features a more powerful Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor and a 144Hz display.
Another alternative is the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 (currently available on Amazon), which we reviewed previously. It has a similarly sized 8.7-inch display with the same 1,340 x 800-pixel resolution, but its refresh rate is limited to 60Hz. The Alldocube tablet offers a smoother display and a larger battery, while Samsung uses a MediaTek Helio G99 processor.

Pricing and availability
Alldocube has set the regular Japanese price at ¥19,999 (around $126). During the launch promotion, running from November 4 to November 12, buyers can get it for ¥13,999 (around $88). The offer is available through Amazon Japan and Rakuten, with a protective case and tempered-glass screen protector included.
