Casio launches G-Shock DW-5600 variant in pan-African colors

Casio has teamed up with streetwear retailer Union for a fresh take fresh take on the DW-5600, branded as DW-5600RBG-1 in the US and as DW-5600RBG-1JR in Japan. The model uses the red, green and black colors of Marcus Garvey's Pan-African flag, while the retainers also echo those colors. Union's Frontman logo is engraved on the metal case back and appears on the display when the white LED backlight is activated.
Beyond the cosmetic details, the specs remain unchanged from the standard DW-5600. Made of bio-based resin, the case measures 48.9 x 42.8 x 13.4 mm and weighs 52 grams, while the display is protected by mineral glass. Casio's usual shock resistance and 200-meter water resistance are retained. Functions include a 1/100-second stopwatch, 24-hour countdown timer, multifunction alarm, full auto-calendar and flash alerts. The CR2016 battery is rated to last five years.
Shipping in matching custom packaging, the DW-5600RBG-1 is scheduled to launch in the US on November 6, priced at $165, via Union's online store and Los Angeles retail location. The Japanese version will follow on November 7, costing ¥19,800 at Union stores in Tokyo and Osaka.
