Timex unveils new Ironman anniversary watches, including three Japan-only designs

Timex is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its iconic Ironman sports watch with four special-edition models. Three of them are exclusive to Japan. The new collection builds on the classic Ironman 8-Lap design, introducing colourful resin cases, translucent finishes, and a commemorative edition that pays tribute to the watch’s 1980s origins.
Introduced in 1986, the Timex Ironman became a popular choice among runners and triathletes for its rugged construction, digital stopwatch, and innovative eight-lap memory system. Its distinctive top-mounted buttons allowed athletes to operate the watch while running.
Leading the collection is the Timex Ironman 40th Anniversary Edition (TW5M75900), which features a translucent blue resin case and strap complemented by a contrasting red bezel. The watch draws inspiration from the colourful consumer electronics of the 1980s and 1990s, while a specially engraved caseback commemorates the anniversary.
The watch measures 39 mm across and 10.5 mm thick, with a 46 mm lug-to-lug distance. It features an acrylic crystal, 100-meter water resistance, a battery-powered quartz digital movement and includes a chronograph, countdown timer, alarm, eight-lap memory, and Timex’s Indiglo backlighting.
Alongside the anniversary edition, Timex has announced three Japan-exclusive variants. The TW5M76000 features a translucent light-blue finish inspired by 1990s digital gadgets, while the TW5M76100 adopts a bright yellow colourway. Lastly, the third model, TWG069400, combines black and green accents for a more understated appearance. It also includes an additional custom nylon strap. All three Japan-exclusive models retain the 39 mm resin construction, digital movement, and 100-meter water resistance of the anniversary edition.
The 40th Anniversary Edition is listed for $129 in the United States and £105 in the UK. In Japan, the anniversary edition and the light-blue and yellow variants cost ¥19,800 ($125), while the black-and-green version commands ¥22,000 ($140). Preorders in Japan already opened on November 2, with sales scheduled to begin on November 20. An international release date for the anniversary edition has not been confirmed.
