Rumor | Canon will have the EOS R3, a new mirrorless camera, ready to launch at the Tokyo Olympics
The eminent camera tipster Nokishita has posted what looks like a unit of the Canon EOS 1D line at first look. However, closer inspection reveals the name "R3" clearly emblazoned on its chassis. This, then, is projected as the OEM's latest high-end mirrorless camera.
The alleged EOS R3 has leaked amid speculation that it will be touted by Canon as the new go-to for use-cases such as sports or nature photography. This is mainly based on its possible first look and the prominent, reassuring-looking battery grip clearly visible therein.
Therefore, it may make sense for Canon to debut this putative new unit at the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. Nokishita has yet to reveal anything about its potential specs or standalone price yet; however, the account has also posted some new and extensive lenses ostensibly meant for use alongside it.
The leaker also notes that these RF400mm (F2.8 L IS USM) and RF600mm (F4 L IS USM) models have retail prices already. - which almost inevitably require bracing for, being US$11,999 and $12,999 respectively. They may also be showcased at the rumored EOS R3's July-August 2021 debut.
