Canon EOS R6: Leak reveals specs of the company's next full-frame camera
Reported by Canon Rumors, the EOS R6 is expected to be the spiritual successor to the EOS 6D. According to the website, which originally published information about the EOS R6 in January, claims that the full-frame camera will feature the following hardware:
- 20 MP CMOS sensor
- Dual card slots
- New battery - possibly taken from the EOS R5
Canon Rumors also writes that the camera will shoot in 12 FPS using a mechanical shutter and in 20 FPS with its electronic shutter. Additionally, it will be capable of 4K at 60 FPS or 1080p at 120 FPS. IBIS will be onboard too, but Canon Rumors states that the EOS R6 will lack a top-down screen.
The EOS R6 will have a lower-resolution EVF than the EOS R5, along with a worse build quality too. The website reckons that the EOS R6 will launch on May 27, 2020. Canon is yet to confirm this though, nor whether it will be hosting a physical launch.
