BYD Seal beats Tesla Model 3 with "Audi-level build quality" according to popular YouTuber

The vast majority of Chinese EVs are not available in the US, which doesn't mean that some enthusiasts aren't interested in how well electric cars such as the BYD Seal fare when compared against well-known top sellers like the Tesla Model 3.

Consequently, the sympathetic YouTuber Kyle Conner from Out of Spec Reviews has recently crossed the pond in order to gain some hands-on experience with the good-looking Tesla Model 3 competitor on the roads of beautiful Austria. The corresponding 45-minute video is certainly worth watching as it discusses the strengths and weaknesses of the BYD Seal in great detail.

For instance, Conner was impressed by the overall build quality of the BYD Seal, which supposedly is on the same level as high-end German car brands such as Audi. Furthermore, he claims that the well-made Chinese EV easily beats the Tesla Model 3 when it comes to luxury as it also offers more interior space than the competing mid-size sedan including a decent amount of legroom in the rear seats.

More or less surprisingly, the handling and ride comfort of the BYD Seal was also praised, and the same applies to the infotainment system, which sports the practical Apple CarPlay and Android Auto feature that is notably absent in the Model 3 and all other Tesla vehicles. Although some aspects of the BYD Seal could still use some more polish and refinement, the video perfectly illustrates that American EV shoppers are missing out on a noteworthy alternative to the Tesla Model 3.
