Enthusiasts are swarming over the new GeForce RTX series with the RTX 2080 Ti in particular receiving much of the praise. As of this writing, both the RTX 2070 and RTX 2080 Ti Founders Editions are out of stock despite the lukewarm performance-per-Dollar of these Turing GPUs. In response, Asus will be offering multiple trims of the GeForce RTX 2070 starting in October in single-fan, dual-fan, and tri-fan designs.
The smaller single-fan design of the Asus Turbo RTX 2070 has a reduced heat sink to fit in smaller dual-slot builds. The fan diameter will be upped compared to the last generation from 60 mm to 80 mm for potentially quieter operation.
The larger dual-fan design of the aluminum Asus Dual RTX 2070 occupies 2.7 slots for better cooling potential than the above Turbo RTX 2070. Because of the larger volume, the graphics card has a 0dB mode not found on the above single-fan model.
Finally, the tri-fan Asus Strix RTX 2070 is the highest-end trim with a width occupying 2.5 slots. It has all the features of the Double RTX 2070 but with Dual BIOS mode, VirtualLink, and customizeable Aura Sync RGB lighting effects.
Prices are unknown and they will likely not be unveiled until the day these cards become available via online retailers. If the GeForce RTX 2070 Founders Edition is of any indication, however, then we can expect prices north of $600 USD.
