Article updated with spec sheet and carrier details

CEO of Asus, Jerry Shen, took to the stage at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit 2017 currently underway in Hawaii to announce the world's first Gigabit LTE laptop, the Asus NovaGo. The NovaGo is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. This is also the first notebook that runs full Windows 10 on the ARM CPU.

The NovaGo comes in a convertible form factor. The notebook's connectivity is bolstered by the presence of 4 Carrier Aggregation and 4x4 MIMO antenna support that helps in relieving data congestion and increasing data speeds. Users can use both eSIMs and Nano SIMs on the device. The Snapdragon 835 SoC is complemented by up to 8 GB RAM and up to 256 GB UFS 2.0 storage. The main USP of the device is the promise of all-day computing. The NovaGo offers up to 22 hours of battery life (video playback), up to 30 days of standby time, and comes with support for Windows Ink, Windows Hello, and Cortana.

Jerry Shen said,

Today marks the beginning of a new era of personal computing and ASUS is proud to be paving the way with Qualcomm Technologies and other companies to develop this new landscape for ‘Always Connected’ Windows on Snapdragon PCs. ASUS NovaGo reinvents the concept of laptop connectivity and productivity — it’s the world’s first announced laptop that is connected virtually anywhere, at any time, with the new Gigabit LTE network*; and lasts up to 22 hours on a single charge for ‘all-day’ battery life.”

The NovaGo offers the following specs —

  • Windows 10 S (upgradeable to Windows 10 Pro)
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 platform @ 2.6GHz
  • Adreno 540 GPU @ 710MHz
  • 13.3" Full HD (1920x1080) LCD panel w/ 100% sRGB color gamut

  • Up to 256GB UFS 2.0 storage
  • HD camera (1280x720)

  • Snapdragon X16 modem (1Gbps DL / 150Mbps UL, 4x4 MIMO)
  • 52Whr LiPo battery (22 hours max.)
  • 12.44 x 8.7 x 0.59 in
  • 3.06 lbs
  • Backlit keyboard
  • Glass-covered Precision Touchpad
  • Fingerprint sensor (Windows Hello)
  • 2x USB 3.1 Type-A, 1x HDMI, 1x DC in
