Asus Zenfone Max gets new hardware
The Asus Zenfone 3 is expected to show up at Computex, but the second generation Zenfone Max is already official. Last year's model of this affordable handset had a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC and 2 GB of memory, but the updated version comes with a more capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 and 2 GB or 3 GB of memory.
This year's Asus Zenfone Max has a 5.5-inch IPS multitouch display with only 1,280X720 pixels, and both memory options mentioned above come next to 32 GB of internal storage. The microSD slot supports up to 64 GB of additional storage space. This handset also features a 5 MP front camera and has a 13 MP image snapper on the back.
In addition to the above, the new Zenfone Max has a generous 5000 mAh. Unfortunately, it is not removable, but Asus claims it can provide up to three days of moderate use with a full charge. The second generation Asus Zenfone Max is available in India for now, where it retails for roughly $150 USD (2 GB variant) or $192 USD (3 GB version).
