Deal | Asus ZenBook 14 with Ryzen 5 4500U CPU, GeForce MX350 GPU, and 256 GB SSD is down to $599 USD
With the mobile Zen 3 5000 series right around the corner, retailers have begun clearing stock on some current generation models and Best Buy is no exception. The barely one-year old 14-inch Asus ZenBook 14 is now $600 USD down from its already inexpensive launch price of $700.
The deal is notable for several reasons. Firstly, its Ryzen 5 4500U CPU is comparable to the oftentimes pricier 10th gen Intel Core i7-1065G7. Secondly, the system comes with discrete GeForce MX350 graphics which is superior to both the integrated Radeon Vega and Intel iris solutions in terms of speed and compatibility. The Asus ZenBook range is also home to Asus' top-of-the-line Ultrabooks meaning the chassis will be mostly metal. Some Asus VivoBook models may be less expensive, but VivoBook designs consist of cheaper plastic materials in comparison.
Key drawbacks to keep in mind are the limited 8 GB of fixed system RAM and 256 GB PCIe NVMe SSD. The latter is fortunately upgradeable, but the 8 GB of RAM will hinder multi-taskers. There is also no Thunderbolt support which further impacts the longevity and versatility of the laptop. We have not reviewed this specific chassis and so we can't give our personal impressions on the system.
