Asus has officially announced that their Vivobook notebooks will now be available with an OLED display. The Asus VivoBook K15 OLED series is the company’s first Vivobook laptop to include an OLED display, and it does so at a reasonable price, starting at Rs. 46,000. The display is the most significant element of the VivoBook K15 OLED, but there are also other factors that make this laptop a perfect laptop for work and entertainment, allowing you to switch between professional work during the week and content consumption on weekends. Today we will review Asus VivoBook K15 OLED Intel Core i5 11th Gen CPU, integrated Iris XE graphics, with 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD, making up the hybrid storage, and 16GB of RAM for roughly Rs 68,990. So, without further ado, let’s take a closer look at India’s first affordable OLED laptop.

Our review shows that ASUS made a very good move with the VivoBook 15 OLED, as it is one of the very few under Php 50k laptops in the Philippines to have an OLED display. While the plastic build is a bit of a turn off, it’s a necessary compromise to make the laptop affordable enough to sport a high-performance OLED display. Right now, you’ll be hard-pressed to find any laptop priced under Php 50k that has an OLED display. To make things even more interesting, the entry-level VivoBook 15 OLED has an under-Php 35k price tag, which is a price that is very hard to beat If you are in the market for a laptop with an excellent OLED display.

The Asus VivoBook K15 OLED laptop at a starting price of Rs 46,990 is an excellent value for money proposition. You get a decently powered laptop that can handle day-to-day tasks without any hassles and offers the best display experience at that price. Obviously, if you need more RAM, you can opt for the one I reviewed here - the 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 version that costs around Rs 68,990. The VivoBook K15 OLED from Asus is an outstanding laptop option for those who need a personal laptop for work and a bit of multimedia consumption. It can handle multitasking with ease and a bit of casual gaming, but you should not expect a lot in terms of gaming experience. But, the display and loudspeaker quality is among the best you can get at this price.

Asus VivoBook 15 (K513) brings an elegant design and fairly powerful silicon underneath. This Intel variant of the laptop has a stellar single-core performance but anyone looking for a superior multi-core performance should go with VivoBook 15's AMD version featuring the Ryzen 5000-series CPU. Admittedly, it's not the best value-for-money budget laptop either.

Finally, the price. The exact model of the ASUS VivoBook 15 K513 that we have here is priced at RM3,299. It’s a fantastic price for all it offers – and it has some upgrade path too, which makes this laptop rank even higher in my personal list of recommended laptops.

The VivoBook 15 K513 offers an amazing bang for the buck with its OLED display, 11th gen Intel CPU, and discrete Nvidia graphics all for under $950 USD. Though solid on paper, a few cut corners prevent it from reaching the same levels of a ZenBook.

To be honest, we were a bit surprised by the performance output of this machine. Ultimately, it is pretty good for photo editing and even some 1080p video edits. Playing light titles like the CS:GO won’t be an issue either. You just have to make sure you use the dual-channel capability of the device. In fact, this is exactly what we did. Now, it’s a bit unfortunate that there is only one SODIMM slot, as either 4 or 8GB are soldered to the motherboard. Additionally, you get two slots for storage expansion – one M.2 and one 2.5-inch SATA, but there are no accessories for the latter. Indeed, the VivoBook 15 OLED K513 is not the perfect laptop, but we think that it utilizes its hardware perfectly, and offers its users a good run for their money.

The ASUS VivoBook K15 comes at a very affordable price point and offers an OLED panel for a nice viewing experience. Even on key aspects like portability and usability, the VivoBook K15 competes well with the competition and has a reasonably slim form factor… with the tinny speakers and not-so-great battery life being the only niggles. My review unit is specced-up, which moves its price up to Rs 65,990, but it still seems like a worthwhile choice in my opinion. In a nutshell, the VivoBook K15 is a sound deal for its price.

A premium OLED panel on an everyday workhorse makes a considerable difference to the usage experience. The OLED is the only thing that’s exciting about this laptop, but that’s not a bad thing. Even without that OLED, the specs are good, and performance is excellent for the way this laptop is meant to be used. I would have liked a more subtle design, but that’s just a matter of taste. When it comes to variants, here’s what I’d recommend: the Intel Core i5 + 16 GB RAM + 256 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD model goes for Rs 68,990 (Rs 66,990 during the upcoming Big Billion Days Sale on Flipkart). The 8 GB variant with similar specs will go for Rs 66,000. Between the two, opt for the 16 GB RAM variant. It’s not that much more expensive and worth the performance bump. Going for Rs 47,000 (Rs 46,000 during the sale), the i3 version, though, is the true sweet-spot. I don’t believe there’s any other laptop on the market offering an OLED, let alone a good LCD, at this price point. If your budget is Rs 50,000, it’ll be hard to pass up on an offer as good as this.

Remember the time when you went to a computer retailer and decided not to buy the laptop just because the display wasn’t convincing enough? The truth is, the display on a notebook is the most important element for an interaction. If you haven’t been keeping up with display technology, OLED screens have been powering top-of-the-line Windows notebooks (and high-end Android phones and iPhones) for quite some time now. But now Asus is bringing the OLED display technology to the VivoBook K15 OLED, a laptop that starts at just Rs 46,990. That’s a big deal at this price point.

The Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch (2021) is a truly capable mobile workstation, with incredibly powerful performance and offers exceptional battery life. In addition to a beautiful redesign, it packs a beautiful screen, excellent speakers and built-in microphone, and pretty everything else you’d need of a do-it-all workstation. For the creative professional, this laptop boasts the best screen on a laptop, while the boosted specs make this an awesome device for doing heavy-duty creative work on, including 3D animation and music production. Once again, the screen on the Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch is the best you’ll find on a laptop right now. That said, the 14-inch MacBook Pro is very expensive, and might not be the best investment if you don’t need the power. The M1 Pro chip is likely overkill for a lot of people, and if you’re not going to chuck complex workloads at it, the MacBook Air (M1, 2020) remains the best laptop for you.
