Archive.org versionBefore we started this review, we were not really sure what to compare it with. Given the fact that the VivoBook brand was not really known for its high-quality builds, nor its supreme battery life, we expected to see a budget all-rounder intended mainly for multimedia consumption and school work. However, once we have taken it into our hands, our perception of the S14 S435 changed dramatically.

Archive.org versionThe Asus VivoBook S14 is compact, well built and good looking, and it pairs a solid 1080p screen with a reasonable everyday processor and great battery life. It's easy to find more processing power elsewhere, though, and the keyboard is loud and feels a little harsh.

Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs: Integrated graphics card in Intel Tiger Lake G4 SoCs based on the new Gen. 12 architecture with 96 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). The clock rate depends on the processor model. The Tiger Lake chips are produced in the modern 10nm+ process at Intel.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

i7-1165G7: An upper mid-range, quad-core processor of Tiger Lake product family. The i7 is designed for use in ultra-light (yet actively cooled) laptops; it is manufactured on Intel's third-gen 10 nm process marketed as SuperFin. The CPU cores run at 2.8 GHz (base clock speed @ 28 W TDP) to 4.7 GHz (single-core Boost frequency).
