Asus Transformer Book T100HA with Atom x5-Z8500 coming soon
Asus has been preparing to launch a new Transformer Book T100HA 2-in-1 which seems like the biggest refresh in the series since its official unveiling two years ago. The new T100HA was first announced in June this year and now it’s finally available for preorder.
The new 2-in-1 from Asus is powered by Intel’s new, 14 nm, Atom x5-Z8500 „Cherry Trail” processor with four cores clocked at 1.44 GHz (up to 2.24 GHz in Turbo mode). The x5-Z8500 comes with a dual-channel LPDDR3-1600 RAM controller as well as an Intel HD Graphics GPU with 12 execution units. Base GPU frequency is 200 MHz – up to 600 MHz in Turbo.
As for the new hybrid, it features a 10-inch screen with (a bit disappointing) 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. There will be versions with 2 or 4 GB of RAM, as well as 32, 64 or 128 GB of eMMC storage. The device comes with a microSD card reader, 802.11 b/g/n wireless module, Bluetooth 4.0, a 5 MP / 2 MP camera set, one USB 2.0 port, one USB Type-C port with trasfer speed up to 5 Gb/s and one micro-USB 2.0. port. It also features a 30 Wh battery which, according to the manufacturer, will allow for up to 12 hours of operation.
Asus Transformer Book T100HA’s is 8.45 mm thin (10 mm with docked keyboard unit). The tablet itself weighs 0.58 kg and the keyboard dock adds another 0,46 kg when attached.
The device runs Windows 10 Home. Pricing starts at €299 for the 2 GB RAM / 32 GB storage version and ends at €399 for the 4 GB / 128 GB one.
