Asus announced quite a few workstation-grade ExpertBook laptops at IFA 2022. They varied between thin and light solutions and full-fledged workhorses with beefy hardware. The Asus ExpertBook B3 Detachable, on the other hand, had been announced at CES 2022. Our in-depth review determined it to be a decent laptop, but it had numerous flaws. Asus has finally revealed its price and availability in the United States.
The Asus ExpertBook B3 Detachable comes with a 10.5-inch touch-enabled WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) LCD panel with a peak brightness of 320 nits. Thick bezels surround the screen and house the laptop/tablet hybrid's 5 MP selfie camera. At the bottom, there is a pogo pin connector for interfacing with the included keyboard. Given its compact form factor, input options are a tad lacking, with only one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
Under the hood, the Asus ExpertBook B3 Detachable uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 SoC. It has two Cortex-A76 performance cores clocked at 2.4 GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores and an Adreno 618 GPU. Memory options include 4/8 GB of RAM but storage is limited to 128 GB eMMC with no word about any expansion options. There is a 10 MP camera module at the back for photography. The tablet also comes with a stylus that can be housed and charged in a dedicated silo.
Lastly, the Asus ExpertBook B3 Detachable runs Windows 11 Pro out of the box. It is powered by a 38 Wh battery (up to 45 W fast charging) and supports Wi-Fi 6/Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless connectivity. One can buy its base variant immediately for US$599.
